This stunning washed Gesha comes from Raúl Durán, a fourth-generation coffee grower in the highlands of Gaitania, Tolima — one of Colombia’s most exciting emerging terroirs.
Raúl’s family story in coffee began in 1970, when his father arrived in the region through work with the National Coffee Federation. Over time, the family established a small farm that has since grown into a true multi-generational project.
Today, Raúl runs the land alongside his wife Astrid and their wider family, with their children, granddaughter, and nephew all working together to care for more than 60,000 trees, including varieties such as Caturra, Castillo, Borbón Rosado, Papayo, and Gesha.
This washed Gesha is processed with exceptional precision. After depulping, the coffee undergoes a 36-hour anaerobic fermentation in sealed GrainPro bags, allowing layered complexity to develop in an oxygen-free environment. It is then thoroughly washed and slowly sun-dried on raised beds over 20 days for clarity and structure in the cup. A final 30-day stabilisation period in GrainPro helps the profile settle into balance and harmony.
The result is a vibrant, elegant Gesha with lifted florals and a fruit-driven cup profile.
Flavour profile: Jasmine, lylac, tangerine. [Note] This coffee is roasted to order, please allow 1 – 2 business days prior to dispatch.
