Colombia La Laja Sudan Rume Washed

La Laja is owned by James Fernandez Vivas and has 5 hectares under coffee, split between the Castillo and Colombia varieties. The farm sits in Cauca, a department in Colombias central-west that runs from the Western Cordillera all the way to the Pacific coast. Between the altitude and the winds coming off the ocean, its among the coldest growing regions in the country. Most of the coffee here comes from indigenous and Afro-descendant producers. The landscape itself is varied, taking in the Popayán Plateau, an abundance of rivers, and the volcanic peaks of the Central range.
